Video support an aspect of new wordpress for iOS

Posted by BlogJunta on 2:39 AM 0 comments

WordPress for iPhone and iPad has reached version 2.6, and it brings several very interesting improvements.
Most importantly, you can now record, upload, attach and play videos within the application. As video becomes an increasingly important part of blogging, this functionality will be invaluable for bloggers on the move.
The new version also brings autosaving, meaning that you won’t lose your entire post if something goes afoul. The setup process for adding new sites to the application has been simplified, and media management has been improved – it’s now nearly as good as the functionality in the web app.
Finally, WordPress 2.6 for iOS brings a lot of bug fixes and performance tweaks; you can check out the details about those on the official changelog.
You can install WordPress 2.6 for iOS from the iTunesapp store.

Blogrolling in its last days?

Posted by BlogJunta on 9:57 PM 0 comments

Blogrolling in its lasts days??

Blogrolling.com shot to fame with its innovative and easy techniques that provided bloggers with an elegant way to list and manage their favorite site without having to dive into the HTML of your site.

It has become so famous that bloggers blogroll one another almost everyday without even knowing where the term comes from.
Having been into business for almost 6 years starting in 2004, Blogrolling.com is on its deathbed and if rumours are to be believed, they will announce there permanent outage shortly.

A tweet from blogrolling to Darnell Clayton set the the rumourmills churning. It was as below
@Darnell We’ll likely make a decision next week and give people as much time as we can. A few weeks for sure. (via @Blogrolling)

While Blogrolling is no longer needed in the new age of blogging that we live in, the company did help persuade blog platforms to develop a better way to list blog rolls (with Google creating the most innovative way to list them upon ones site).
Unless you are of the viewpoint that blog rolls are worthless, users currently utilizing the service would be wise to find a way to export their links elsewhere or (better yet) hard link the sites within their respective sidebars.

503me.com

Posted by BlogJunta on 2:36 AM 0 comments

Feedjit, the popular traffic measurement service today launched a completely free, community powered question and answer site called 503me.com. On 503me you can ask any question about getting traffic. Search engine optimization, search marketing and viral marketing  and any topic related to getting more visitors on your blog or website are covered here.

503me is inspired by the hundreds of questions I've received via email and haven't been able to answer yet. I realized that it would be great to have a way for the many  smart people on this list and on the Web to answer your questions too. We designed the site to be lightweight, super fast and as user-friendly as possible.“ says Mark Maunder, Feedjit Founder & CEO.

The name 503me comes from the code that a web server gives when it's getting too much traffic: HTTP code 503. It's every webmaster's dream to have the happy problem of too many site visitors.

The site works on a voting system. The best questions and answers will rise to the top as they receive more votes. The home page uses an algorithm that shows you questions that are both new and popular.

Talking about innovative methodology used on the site, Mark continues “We also use a "karma" system that rewards members who's questions or answers get votes. We will be introducing features for members with higher karma.”

Go there now, post a question, and you should get a few great answers from the team and from other experts on the site. If you're a Guru, help 503me help the community by answering a few of the questions posted.
